It all started when a watchmaker and pearl stringer fled the ‘norm’ to set up their own shop in the booming city of Chicago in 1915.

As equal partners in business and life, they repaired the most advanced tech of the time - pocket watches. Spanning oceans - and decades - they revived timepieces that belonged to European immigrants from every corner of the city. With detailed metal encasings, intricate layers of gears, and hidden gemstones of ruby, sapphire, and diamonds powering it all. Walter and Maude Sheffner took pocket watches of years past and brought them into the modern world.

Over 100 years later, Walter and Maude Sheffner’s legacy lives on in the fourth generation of their original store; J.Sheffner. With Jacquie Anderson, Walter and Maude’s great granddaughter, at the helm, J. Sheffner still works with metal and jewels to keep time. But instead of watches, Jacquie uses her expertise to craft unique jewelry designs to capture and inspire legacy-worthy moments in the lives of extraordinary woman. Every piece at J. Sheffner is crafted by a G.G. Certified Gemologsit who knows the story behind every facet of the stones, metals, and craftmanship used. So whether you’re adding one of our designs to your story, or you’re looking to capture your unique story in a custo crafted piece, we ake sure every piece is a heirloom quality, worthy of Walter and Maude.
